MEET THE DOCS
Dr. Alexandra Andersson and Dr. Andrea Ormonde first met in chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic West. However, it wasn’t until they were treating the Kona Ironman Championship athletes in Hawaii together that they realized that they had a lot in common - including their Cal Poly alma mater, love for the Central Coast and movement-based treatment styles!
Four years later, Dr. Alexandra and Dr. Andrea officially joined forces to create ALTA Health + Performance - a non-traditional, movement-based chiropractic clinic.
Both Dr. Alexandra and Dr. Andrea are rooted in the same styles and principles of patient care and therefore no matter which doc you see, you will be getting very similar treatments sessions.
You can be sure that their objective is to get you back out in the world stronger, smarter, faster and better than before. And that they will educate you every step of the way so that you can gain the confidence and tools needed to put yourself back in the driver seat of your own health and wellbeing. And so you can optimize and bulletproof your athletic performance!
Dr. Alexandra Andersson
Hello! My name is Dr. Alexandra. I am an ambassador for Specialized Bicycles, a Functional Mobility Specialist and a Non-Traditional Doctor of Chiropractic + Human Movement. I am driven by an unquenchable thirst and enthusiasm for not just learning but for also putting my knowledge to the test through practical application and figuring out ways to make it even more effective. Each morning I wake up feeling so lucky that I get to help people better understand their bodies through solving problems and removing obstacles that may be preventing them from living their best life.
Prior to starting ALTA Health + Performance, I worked at the Apple Wellness Center at Headquarters in Cupertino. I also worked at a renowned Sports Rehabilitation Chiropractic Clinic in the Silicon Valley. My style is heavily influenced by Dr. Andreo Spina’s Functional Range Conditioning and Physiotherapist Pavel Kolar’s Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Principles. I am also fascinated by the intricacies of gut health and how it is expressed through the rest of the body.
When not at ALTA, I am mostly known for my love of mountain biking, resistance training, adventure seeking, road-trips, podcasts, horses, wood-fired pizza and coffee!
Dr. Andrea Ormonde
Hi! My name is Dr. Andrea. I am a Functional Mobility Specialist and a Non-Traditional Doctor of Chiropractic + Human Movement. My passion is to help you better understand your body and its movement patterns in order to get you living your ideal lifestyle! I find the more you know as a patient, the more effectively we can work together to overcome aches, pain, dysfunction or whatever else that may be holding you back. Everyday I am so grateful for the opportunity teach patients about their body, movement, and wellness.
Before joining ALTA Health and Performance, I worked at Veteran’s Hospital Martinez’s Center for Integrated Brain Health & Wellness. I also worked at a renowned Sports Rehabilitation Chiropractic Clinic in the Silicon Valley. Additionally, I have experience as a group and personal trainer - significantly lowering injury rates among athletes of all levels and empowering them to reach their health and fitness goals.
When not at ALTA, you can find me running the trails of SLO County, on the volleyball court, cycling, training for a Spartan Race, country swing dancing, watching Jeopardy, listening to podcasts, and sipping on Bulletproof coffee!
